Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 won’t be coming out anytime soon but that doesn’t mean James Gunn isn’t going to tease fans about the franchise he helped build. Not only is he more active on social media and answering questions but the acclaimed director has also released a playlist for Meredith Quill, the mother of Peter Quill aka Star-Lord who also got her son addicted to listening to music.

It’s a cute bit from James Gunn and the director even said that some of these songs could end up being in the third movie. That’s pretty cool news, though we’re gonna have to wait and see until anything about the third movie is shown to us. We all know Gunn is busy with The Suicide Squad and hope that movie knocks our socks off but we also really want to see new Guardians stuff and this darned pandemic isn’t helping things.

Fans who have been keeping up with all of these superhero movies know that Guardians of the Galaxy started the whole “old music in superhero movies” cliche that has turned out great for musicians and artists alike. Films like Deadpool and Suicide Squad clearly took note of how well this did for Guardians as they did the same thing, albeit adding some hip hop and other ‘90s tunes rather than songs from the ‘70s or ‘80s.

Check out Meredith Quill’s Complete Awesome Mix on Spotify right now. It’s filled with a number of tracks that we’re sure you’ll enjoy one or two songs. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 does not have a release date, as of this writing.
