Grant Morrison's The Invisibles is Coming to TV


Grant Morrison is one of the most well-known comic book authors today, writing stellar runs for Batman, Justice League of America, and Doom Patrol. Comic book fans are hoping his excellence continues with this week's The Green Lantern #1, which has a lot of readers excited. Turns out that fans of his have even more things to be excited about, as his Vertigo series, The Invisibles, is now coming to a television near you.

According to Variety, Morrison has agreed to a deal where he will help Universal Cable Productions (UCP) make a number of original shows, along with this adaptation of his well-received Vertigo series. Working with a variety of artists, The Invisibles is just another quality title in Morrison's fairly impressive resume and it will be interesting to see how it translates to television.

Morrison has actually already had some early television success, with SyFy's Happy getting plenty of positive reviews and recently being renewed for a second season. Happy is based on a four-issue series that Morrison did for Image Comics so it seems that Hollywood has taken notice of his talents now that he has a successful TV show.

Set in 2020, The Invisibles follows an elite international cell of occult freedom fighters dedicated to the creation of a better world for everyone by any means necessary. No release date for the series has been revealed, as of this writing.
