Disney Reportedly Canceled a Tron Show by John Ridley

When Disney+ was first announced, fans were hoping to see a number of their favorite Disney properties revived for the streaming service, along with several Marvel and Star Wars shows. For the most part, fans are getting what they want with The Mandalorian giving us some great Star Wars content, while WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier are going to tide us MCU fans over until more movies are announced.

However, it turns out we almost got a new Tron series from John Ridley and it was canned for some reason. That sounds like a wasted opportunity, especially in this age where we're more into the internet than ever.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, this was a series that was never greenlit and Disney+ is currently going through 50 scripted shows and 50 unscripted shows. This Tron show would have been for ABC, which is owned by Disney, and it wouldn't have shocked anyone if it ended up appearing in Disney+ at some point.

There has been very little of Tron since Tron: Legacy, the 2010 sequel to the beloved 1982 original, and we haven't heard much from this potential franchise since. We did see this series appear in Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, of all things, but that's the most relevant it has been for the longest time.

Is it time for a new Tron series for the Disney+ streaming service? How about a movie? We'll just have to wait and see.
