Cyberpunk 2077 just had another Night City Wire event and many felt that it was a wee bit better than the first one, thanks to more information regarding gameplay. One of the bits that got a lot of people's attention was the Lifepaths trailer, showing that your character can have three very different origins depending on what you choose. At the least, this increases your replayability of the game and should make future choices even more interesting.
The Cyberpunk 2077 Lifepaths trailer reveals three different backstories to choose from; Street Kid, Nomad, and Corpo. Street Kid and Corpo are the ones that have been shown in most of the trailers, showing a clear class divide in this society. Nomad seems like something we have yet to see in this game, giving us a Mad Max-like background in areas that haven't really been showcased before.
Being able to choose your character's backstory is a great choice on the part of CD Projekt Red, even if it's not the most original feature ever made. Dragon Age: Origins had even more lifepaths for the player but we're at different times these days and most Western RPGs don't even give you these choices.
I'm sure some would argue that Street Kid, Nomad, and Corpo could have been more original but these lifepaths do fit the universe of Cyberpunk 2077. We're already sure that the game is going to be reasonably good, if not great, so let's hope this game lives up to our expectations.
Cyberpunk 2077 is coming out on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia this November.
