Castlevania Writer Warren Ellis Responds to Allegations of Sexual Misconduct

Whether you're a fan of Warren Ellis for his extensive comic book work or his impressive stint on Netflix's Castlevania, it must have been depressing to see all the sexual misconduct allegations that were thrown at him. Sure, innocent until proven guilty but if that many people are telling these stories about you, something is definitely up. Anyway, Ellis finally spoke up after a whole day went by and released a statement on Twitter.

In the statement, Ellis claimed that though he has made many bad choices, he feels that he never knowingly "coerced, manipulated, or abused" anyone. Ellis also denies assaulting anyone, though he does admit to being "ignorant" of his position and things like that. While Ellis does apologize to everyone he has hurt, the fact he still says "I didn't know I was famous" and other excuses is pretty bad.

Ellis' statement hasn't been received well and many fans are still disappointed in the writer's actions. It's hard to blame them since his work on Castlevania, Moon Knight, Transmetropolitan, The Authority, and so much more inspired a lot of people. The fact that he might have coerced people into doing sexual favors for him is pretty bad.

Stay tuned as we wait and see what happens to Warren Ellis. As of this writing, none of his projects have been canceled yet but don't be surprised if he gets taken off Castlevania, even if he gave the series its identity.
