CD Projekt Red Teases a Photo Mode for Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is coming out next year and the game is expected to have all of the essentials a single-player RPG should have, aside from the previously confirmed multiplayer mode that will come out sometime after the base game launches. As we wait for details on the multiplayer from CD Projekt Red, it looks like the developers are working on other fun things for the game, like a possible Photo Mode.

On Twitter, CD Projekt Red posted about "photos from Night City" before an image of a camera appears briefly on the screen. If this isn't a clear indication of a Cyberpunk 2077 Photo Mode, we don't know what is. Some fans might roll their eyes if a Photo Mode is announced for this game but there's no doubt that it can be a fun distraction as titles like Marvel's Spider-Man and Dragon Quest 11 on Switch have proven.

The only problem with a Photo Mode in Cyberpunk 2077 is that we play in the first-person mode so any photos we take will mostly be environments and enemies. We could see a selfie mode ala real-life phones or as seen in Marvel's Spider-Man but we'll have to wait and see. It will likely work out in the end since Photo Modes in video games are pretty common and are hard to mess up.

Few games have the anticipation of CD Projekt Red's new project, thanks to all the goodwill they gained from The Witcher 3 and Keanu Reeves. While the lack of a third-person camera is disappointing, this should be an A+ effort.

Cyberpunk 2077 comes out on April 16, 2020.
