Batman: Tom King Teases His Run's Final Cover

A lot of things have been said about Tom King's Batman run, both good and bad, but you can't deny that it's been a rather eventful run for the Caped Crusader. King has been able to mix up some rather serious storytelling whilst also bringing some of Batman's more obscure villains to these pages. Seriously, did anyone expect to feel bad for Kite Man of all people?

On Twitter, King revealed that he was asked by a fan to draw, what would be, his final cover for his Batman run. King decided to take the fan's challenge and posted the would be cover for the world to see, even if it's poorly drawn. Still, judging from the imagery he uses, we could be seeing some of these appear in his final issues since they've become major mainstays in his run thus far.

In the cover he drew in, we see the now-famous Bat-Burger restaurant that has appeared a number of times in the series. It's one of the more humorous aspects of the comic and does help when the stories can be rather grim. Damian Wayne even got a Red Hood toy once, which was beyond humorous.

This would be final cover also has a kite in the air, showing the writer's love for Kite Man. While a running joke in the series, often getting punched and being relegated to saying "Kite-Man! Hell Yeah!," there's no doubt that he's been somewhat important in this series, especially after his heartbreaking origin shown in The Ballad of Kite Man.

Finally, we see Batman eating in the Bat-Burger with someone. While this cover doesn't specify who it could be, popular choices would be Commissioner Gordon, Catwoman, or Kite Man himself.

Tom King's Batman run isn't ending anytime soon. Fans can pick up Batman #56 this week and see how Dick Grayson recovers from being shot in the head.
