A Classic Marvel Villain Becomes the New Ronin

When Hawkeye: Freefall was first announced, fans were intrigued about the idea of a new Ronin since it's an alias many have enjoyed seeing in the comics. Originally belonging to Daredevil supporting character Echo, Clint Barton a.k.a. Hawkeye has since become synonymous with the identity since he used it for a majority of New Avengers before officially taking back his Hawkeye identity and sharing it with Kate Bishop.

However, Hawkeye: Freefall #5 has taken things to a darker place as Daredevil villain Bullseye has seemingly taken the identity for himself, meaning that no one is safe. The villain was deadly enough as is, killing people with toothpicks of all things and we're sure this will make for one hell of a battle against Clint Barton.

Bullseye managed to get the information out of a Skrull that Clint hired to impersonate him while the Avenging Archer himself used his own brand of justice as Ronin. The Skrull would keep up appearances for him so that no one would be suspicious, though it wasn't long before people found out who he was. Now that Bullseye may have taken the alias, it looks like Clint will be in for some trouble.

Despite mostly being associated with Daredevil, Bullseye and Hawkeye have had a rivalry for years now. During Norman Osborn's Dark Reign, Bullseye was given the Hawkeye alias and would do dirty things for Osborn while people thought he was a hero, whereas Clint would have to hide in the shadows as Ronin. Seems like the tables have turned as Clint is Hawkeye and Bullseye could end up being Ronin.

Hawkeye: Freefall #5 is now available in comic book stores.
