Naruto Live-Action Hollywood Movie Confirmed by Creator Masashi Kishimoto

Naruto Shippuden may already be finished, but the Naruto franchise is far from over! Fans have been wondering if we'll see Naruto Uzumaki get a Hollywood live-action adaptation, and that possibility intensified when Lionsgate acquired the rights for it. Now, the Naruto creator just confirmed that a live-action movie is coming! Believe it!

Creator Masashi Kishimoto showed up at Weekly Jump's Jump Festa where he made some big announcements about the future of his franchise. As ANN reports, he confirmed the Hollywood blockbuster adaptation of Naruto there, and that he has been asked to develop the film. Kishimoto is working with director Michael Gracey on the Naruto film, and the event revealed exclusive pre-production art from the upcoming film.

This isn't the first time we've heard about the film, but it's the first time that Kishimoto has confirmed that it's coming. Last year, The Tracking Board Hollywood reported that Gracey was in talks with Lionsgate over the movie.

There's no word yet on when the movie will hit theaters, but it's good to know that Kishimoto is involved in the film's development. Most live-action films based on anime have received a lot of hate, but with Kishimoto backing this up, what could go wrong?

Kishimoto also confirmed at the event that Naruto will continue in the world of anime. A spin-off series will premiere on TV in April 2017. The new anime series centered on Naruto's son, Boruto and other new generation ninjas, is coming at TV Tokyo. The creator said that he hopes the anime will make Naruto better than ever before.
