What is the plot of Kdrama Hometown?
Kdrama Hometown is a mystery thriller set in a small rural town in 1999. The story centers around Choi Hyung In, a detective who chases and investigates a series of strange murder cases.
More than a decade ago, Jo Kyung Ho, a terrorist, returns to South Korea after studying in Japan and instigates an attack at a train station in his hometown that killed passengers. He turned himself to the authorities and was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Relatively, his daughter, Jo Jae Young was sent to live with his younger sister, Jo Jung Hyun. Although labeled a terrorist's family member, Jo Jung Hyun tried to restart her life with her niece. However, the child suddenly goes missing, which led him to team up with Choi Hyung In.
It was an ill-fated connection as Choi Hyung In lost his wife in the same terrorist attack that Jo Jung Hyun's brother took part in. As he investigates several murder cases in the rural town, he starts to suspect that the cases could be related to the terrorists.

The released still image previews for the new Kdrama Hometown featured Yoo Jae Myung as Choi Hyung Jin, a police detective in the violent crimes division, exceeding charisma in his pursuit of strange murder cases in town. He fiercely looks at someone who seems to be interrogating him, and his unwavering eyes visibly show his strong will to dig up the truth.
Moreover, the veteran detective walks around the murder scene as he closely investigates the mysterious cases under pouring rain.

When will Kdrama Hometown release?
The imminent Kdrama Hometown is set to premiere sometime in September 2021. The series will be aired on tvN on an evening timeslot, 9:30 PM KST. Further details about the new drama are yet to be released.
