Mission Impossible 6 Director Open to Helm Man of Steel 2 or Green Lantern Corps

There has been talk going around that Mission Impossible: Fallout director Chris McQuarrie is being considered to helm a DCEU film, and people are wondering if it's either for Man of Steel 2 or Green Lantern Corps. Apparently, McQuarrie is open to directing either one.

Talking to ScreenRant, McQuarrie had this to say about helming the Man of Steel sequel:

"To me, I'm interested in a good story. That's really what it is. I mean, when Man of Steel came up, it was because somebody had asked me, did I want to work with Henry again? Which I would in a second. I go through the door that opens."

I think it would only be fitting that McQuarrie would try and ‘fix' Superman for the DCEU. After all, it was his film that ended up making Cavill look so weird for Justice League.

As for Green Lantern Corps, some rumors have been going around that Tom Cruise was being wanted for the role of an older Hal Jordan. McQuarrie explains:

"You know, I got to say, Tom [Cruise] and I have never talked about it. We always kind of talk about what we're working on or what we're talking about working on next. I think, again, I think if you show them a good story, I think if you showed him a really emotional story, I don't think, you know, it's, I can never predict. I can never predict what it is he's going to be drawn to."

For now, it looks like the DCEU has its plate full. After Aquaman, next year will see the release of Shazam!, Joker, an d Wonder Woman 1984. Not to mention there's that Birds of Prey movie being directed by Cathy Yan.

We don't know when Man of Steel 2 or Green Lantern Corps. will come out, but hopefully Warner Bros gives us a solid update next year.

Mission Impossible: Fallout hits theaters July 27.
