Mattel’s Synopsis For Justice League Shifts Focus From Batman To Wonder Woman

There's a new synopsis for the DC Extended Universe's Justice League and it looks like the brief summary of the superhero mash-up movie has its focus on Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman.

After photos of Mattel's newest Mera (Amber Heard) figure made its way online, Heroic Hollywood managed to spot a new synopsis for Justice League in the packaging for the company's Barbie Signature Mera doll.

However, unlike the official summary of the upcoming DCEU movie, this new synopsis focuses on Diana Prince instead of Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne.

Here's the synopsis:

"Once again, Wonder Woman must demonstrate her ability as a fierce warrior. Facing a great enemy, she and Batman join forces to recruit a group of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. Having formed an unprecedented League of heroes, they set out to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions."

Of course, while this new summary doesn't come from Warner Bros. directly, it's understandable how the focus would shift to Diana after the critical and commercial success of Patty Jenkin's Wonder Woman.

Though Batman has always been considered the team leader in Justice League, Warner Bros. has been making subtle changes to the tone of its marketing material by giving Wonder Woman more prominence in the Justice League Comic-Con preview. Though it's yet to be seen whether the studio would change the official synopsis of the film, it's likely that we'll see more of Wonder Woman in upcoming previews.

Here's the official synopsis for the film:

"Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions."

Justice League premieres November 17, 2017.
