Summer 2021 was filled with different types of isekai anime, all of which bring new and exciting interpretations and storytelling. One of the most popular ones from this season is Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy or Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu.
Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy is a fantasy light novel series by Mitsuaki Matsumoto and Kei Azumi, created in 2012. It was first serialized on Shōsetsuka ni Narō before serialization was transferred to the AlphaPolis website four years later. Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy also has an anime adaptation by Kotora Kino, also serialized on AlphaPolis. The anime adaptation is by the studio C2C, which aired the first season starting July 2021.
It follows the story of Makoto Masumi, who gets transported to another world by the god Tsukuyomi as part of an agreement between a goddess and his parents. Initially, he was supposed to be transported there as a hero, but the goddess ends up despising him. She calls him ugly and strips him of his supposed hero title. As compensation, she gives him the ability to understand all the languages in that world, except the human one. She then sends him off to the wastelands located at the edge of the world.
Despite this drawback, he ends up being an incredibly powerful being in this world. His magical and physical abilities are so exceptional that many creatures and demihumans have chosen to follow him. Makoto aims to build a peaceful community where all of them can coexist.
Will Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Have a Season 2?
Considering the show's popularity, fans may be wondering whether there will be a second season or not. The good news is, the official social media accounts of Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy announced after the release of the final episode of Season 1 that a second season will be happening.
