The Mugen Train arc is back! Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2's second episode kicks off with Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke finally aboard the Mugen Train. For fans who have seen the Mugen Train film, the plot of the episode isn't something new. However, there are new opening and ending themes by LiSA and a few changes to the background music and animation!
Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 2 Recap
Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke finally meet up with Rengoku inside the Mugen Train. Inosuke is very much excited over the train's technology, while Zenitsu tries to calm him down. Tanjiro explains to Rengoku that their group has been tasked to accompany him on his mission. Since he's the Flame Hashira, Tanjiro also asks Rengoku if he knows anything about the Hinokami Kagura dance — which, unfortunately, Rengoku is unaware of.
After Inosuke tries to jump out the window, Rengoku reminds them that it's dangerous since a demon might show up. Zenitsu freaks out over realizing that they're not going towards the demons, but they're already within the area. After the train conductor punches their tickets, Rengoku and Tanjiro sense a demon. A giant demon with two faces shows up, and Rengoku quickly eliminates it with one move. The group moves to another train car to find the other demon. Rengoku easily defeats the demon once again, earning praise from the rest of the group.
Going back to reality, it turns out that all of them have fallen asleep. The train conductor is on his knees, begging to be put to sleep after following orders. A detached hand praises him for a job well done, then puts him to sleep. Meanwhile, four other kids ask what they have to do. The owner of the hand, Enmu, tells them to tie themselves to the Demon Slayers. In Tanjiro's dream, he is reunited with his family. He starts crying after seeing his younger siblings. It feels like everything is back to normal, so he starts thinking he just had a bad dream.
