WandaVision has reached its mid-season and it is finally shedding some light on what is happening in Westview. With the previous episode jam-packed with new information and quite a lot of surprises, the series is now giving answers to questions by boggling everyone with new ones.

WandaVision features Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff and Paul Bettany's Vision from the Marvel Cinematic Universe where both are in a sitcom in a small town named Westview. The series started with the ‘50s set up and is currently in the ‘80s for the fifth episode.

As a canon series of the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicking-off its fourth phase, WandaVision, albeit confusing sometimes, is quickly picking up its pace of storytelling of how Wanda and Vision ended up in Westview living a seemingly perfect suburban couple in a bizarre town.

WandaVision Episode 5 Recap Westview Perspective

The fifth episode of WandaVision just took bizarre from the usual norm and it appears that the twins are just as powerful as their parents. Opening the episode is Wanda stressed out as to how the twins are upset and not coming to sleep and it was shown that when the twins deem it fit age, they can do it in their own sheer will.

Vision keeps getting more and more upset as the episode goes from the twins aging to Sparky then to Wanda using some of her powers in front of Agnes.

Agnes, on the other hand, doesn't seem to mind being shown off some magic, as if she is already used to it, and Wanda doesn't seem to shy away from Agnes her capabilities.

When Vision received an email regarding the Maximoff anomaly, Vision has completely snapped and used his powers on Norm, his officemate, who quickly regains consciousness and in a state of panic asking Vision to help stop her and Vision supposed it was Wanda.

Sparky met his end when he ate some leaves off of Agnes' lawn and the twins kept urging Wanda to bring Sparky back to life. Having their first taste of death, the twins find it hard to accept that they had to bury Sparky on the same day they got him as a pet.

The episode ended with Wanda and Vision arguing about what is happening in Westview and Vision, being the morally upright character that he is, tells Wanda that what she's doing is wrong. This upsets Wanda telling him she's not pulling all the strings.

Their argument was cut short when Pietro comes knocking on their doorstep.

WandaVision Episode 5 Recap Outside the Barrier Perspective

Now that Monica has been kicked out of Westview, SWORD started discussing the actions they could take to save what appears to be a whole town held hostage inside of Westview. Monica, Jimmy, and Darcy, however, do not approve of the plans of the director himself.

SWORD director Hayward has finally shown footage of what appears to be Wanda breaking into their facility to retrieve the dead body of Vision which provided, somehow, an explanation as to how he is alive in the sitcom.

They took action into their own hands. Monica realized that you continue to carry what you bring inside of Westview and found out that the Kevlar she wore when she got sucked in was turned into her ‘70s pants.

They decided to send Vision an email regarding the Maximoff anomaly so as not to change its nature whilst informing Vision of what is going on.

They also sent in a drone which was armed by the director without them knowing. When Wanda sees the drone, she went outside of the bubble for the first time, and boy, she is terrifying! She returned the drone to the director in anger telling them to leave her and her home alone.

Monica is convinced that somewhere in Wanda's subconscious, Wanda knows she is an ally. She is treating Wanda as if she is the key to everything in Westview and that Wanda should be on their side. Monica has a point, considering the powers of Wanda, it would be best to have her allegiance.

The scene ends where Darcy was surprised that Pietro has been re-cast.

WandaVision Episode 6 Leaks

A part of the sixth episode has been released by a dubious source on the internet and it is completely shocking. The leak is supposed as the seventh episode's "previously on…" which means that it contains the events of episode 6.

The leaked video starts with Vision just outside of the Westview barrier seemingly asking SWORD that the people need help while he is being pulled inside of Westview piece by piece.

As disturbing as it is, the video shows that Vision is drawn to Westview and the powers within the small town. Does this mean Vision cannot leave?

The video also contains the Halloween special of the sitcom where Wanda and Vision don their comic book costumes. With them are their twins, Tommy and Billy, who wears the same costume as their comic book counterparts, Wiccan and Speed. Pietro is also present in his Quicksilver costume.

Billy is rushing to Wanda telling her that Vision is in trouble and Pietro laughingly said: "it's not like your dead husband can die twice!" This triggered Wanda to blast him away with her comic-accurate red eyes.

Further in the leaked video, while SWORD is antagonizing Wanda, Monica disagrees with the director saying that "if Wanda is the problem, she has to be our solution." (Great point there, Monica! Ya go, girl!)

While there is no confirmation yet if the leak is legit, it seems that it has been directly ripped off of the series.

WandaVision Episode 6 Theories

Following the events of Episode 5 and drawing from the leak of Episode 6, here are some theories for the remaining episodes of WandaVision:

With the confirmation of Evan Peters as Pietro in the end scene of episode 5, it was a surprise to most that he was considered as a re-cast of Quicksilver following Darcy's surprised reaction. It is possible that putting Peters as the Quicksilver of the series is Marvel's way to bring in the X-Men, introducing the concept of the Multiverse.

However, with how Peters acted in the leaked video and how Wanda is surprised by his return, theories sprung that Peters may be more than what meets the eye. He could be Mephisto altering his appearance to be closer to Wanda or he could be Quicksilver but under someone else's control like how Norm is.

Another theory is that someone else is pulling the strings in Westview. When Vision asked why there are no other children in Westview, Wanda flipped asking him if he really thinks that she is in control of everything. Wanda exclaimed to Vision that she has no idea how everything started in the first place.

Could someone else be doing it to Wanda? Considering that Wanda has been exhibiting powers a lot more than what she has shown over the last few years as an Avenger, many are thinking that Wanda has help or an upgrade from someone or something else. Could it be the mind stone or Mephisto himself?

When Norm encountered Vision and got his consciousness back, Norm kept telling Vision to keep "her" out of his head. As ominous as it may sound that someone is controlling them, could it be Wanda he is talking about or someone else?

He may be about someone else and Vision just read him wrong. Given that there are only a few female characters in Westview that are given importance and highlight, there is still that possibility that the "her" Norm is referring to could not be Wanda but another person, maybe it is either Agnes or Dottie?

Agnes has also been highlighted in this episode and Wanda doesn't seem to shy away from her the powers she is possessing. This alerted Vision and Wanda even said that Vision may look "normal" to Agnes.

Could Wanda subconsciously trust Agnes with her powers or she knows deep in herself that Agnes is aware of her powers all along?

And Dottie, her absence so far in the series has been in question. Given that she was established as the key to everything in Westview, where has she been in the previous episodes? The last time she was seen was when she asked her husband if she looks fat in her earrings. Why isn't she in the show recently?

With only four episodes left, WandaVision still has a lot of questions to answer and as the series gets more exciting, revelations are coming in like a tidal wave hitting the shores. WandaVision returns on Disney+, Friday, February 12, 2021.
