WandaVision Episode 3 Ending Explained And The Secret of Westview

WandaVision just took us to the ‘70s and what we got is more than what everyone expected. The series finally combined its sitcom style with a few classic Marvel elements especially in the latter half of the episode.

With its Brady Bunch-esque episode, WandaVision's third episode featured the classic ‘70s show with its introduction full of colors and hexagons, and the new setting of Wanda and Vision's house with the iconic stairs and stained-glass windows. It finally departed with the black and white theme we had with the previous episodes.

Fast forward to a few scenes and we're given Wanda's unusual pregnancy that she had twins in less than a day. We saw a completely confused Vision who kept asking questions as to what is happening to his wife and how is it so fast? What an anxious papa-ya!

Then we have Wanda going into labor and seemingly taking the whole power off of Westview to bring her sons to reality It was to everyone's (but not us) surprise that Wanda was carrying twins: Tommy and Billy.

Geraldine was there for Wanda and assisted her to deliver her children while Vision fetched the doctor with his super-speed. And surprisingly, Agnes only had a few but extremely revealing minutes on the episode.

Seemingly flirting with Herb, Vision approached their neighbors and they were talking about Geraldine looking extremely concerned and revealing that Geraldine is brand new in town with no family, no connections, and even no home! Where is she even sleeping or getting her in-time outfits all this time?

Herb seemed that he wanted to add more to what is happening to Westview and why Geraldine is there but a hesitating Agnes stopped him mid-sentence saying "She came here because we're all…" It was as if something is preventing them to spurt the truth out and to Vision.

Meanwhile, inside the Brady Bunch-styled home are Wanda and Geraldine looking after the twins in their respective cribs. When Wanda talked about how she is a twin and mentioned Pietro, Wanda started singing a Sokovian lullaby in a haunting Sokovian accent and this is where Geraldine finally blew her cover.

Geraldine is exactly who Agnes and Herb just described: an outsider. Geraldine blurted that Pietro died in the hands of Ultron and Wanda's overall mood changed from reminiscent to furious. Wanda interrogated Geraldine and totally lost her cool when she saw the necklace pendant of Geraldine: a sword enclosed in an ellipse.

When Vision got inside, he was too late to find Geraldine as Wanda said she was in a hurry to go home. It was shown that Geraldine was really hurried to her home; outside of Westview, thrown out by Wanda through a membrane-like shield covering the whole town, in an empty grass field just outside the sign of Westview.

Geraldine was shaking, still receiving energy from what seems to be Wanda's hex bolt, as various troops went to her where we all see what seems to be military barracks.

With all the strangeness injected by this episode here are a few conclusions and explanations:

Some townspeople like Herb and Agnes are aware of what is happening to Westview but are just too scared to speak out the truth especially in front of Vision.

Wanda keeps changing the narrative whenever she doesn't like what she hears just like what she did when Vision said something is wrong in Westview; just like that of the beekeeper.

Geraldine is an outsider. She being an agent of SWORD has become more apparent now.

Hydra has something to do with this season. Two of the commercials, so far, hints at the involvement of Hydra with the Strucker Watch bearing its logo and the HYDRA Soak.

Vision is just as confused as we are about what is happening to Westview and Wanda. Vision kept asking how Wanda got twins in a day's work and at one point, Wanda had to replace his words because he started saying that something is not right in their town.

Vision and Wanda's powers are so close to being revealed with Vision using super-speed to fetch the doctor as if they were flying and Wanda causing a power outage and various objects to move around when she is giving birth.

As the story of the series gets deeper and stranger, we get to see more of what is really happening to Wanda and Vision, and the whole town of Westview. While there are still a lot of references to classic sitcoms, WandaVision is now venturing into how Marvel tells stories with only six episodes left out of nine.

The next episode of WandaVision will be next week, Friday, January 29, 2021, on Disney+.
