The CW-verse, also known as the Arrowverse, will have yet another team-up of heroes in a "crossover-type feel" for the first five episodes of The Flash Season 8 nothing like other mini-events or traditional crossovers as confirmed by none other than the Chairman and CEO of The CW, Mark Pedowitz.

The CW recently dropped the announcement of what shows would be in the 2021-2022 season and among the shows is The Flash.

In a report by CBR, The CW Chairman, and CEO, Mark Pedowitz revealed in a call with the members of the press that this crossover will be something new as it will be a stand-out event in a series of major team-ups. Pedowitz said, "The idea for The Flash is [showrunner] Eric Wallace and [executive producer Greg Berlanti] have come together, and we're talking about other superheroes from the CW-verse that will come together in each individual episodes. It will not quite be a crossover, but it will have a crossover-type feel with the introduction of all these characters."

While it has not been revealed who would be making their cameo appearances, it is expected that it would be either from shows that are existing or upcoming. Previously, the franchise had an event of the same kind as the Crisis on Infinite Earths event which aired for five episodes from 2019 to 2020.

As the Arrowverse changed drastically with a new show like Superman & Lois, a recast of Batwoman, and finale seasons of Black Lightning and Supergirl, it is expected that this "crossover-type feel" would be another massive event.

As for Black Lightning, it has also been confirmed that its spin-off, Painkillers will not be moving forward as it is canceled by The CW. This makes the crossover event more significant for the character. As for the other shows, it would be a great opportunity to show the continuity of The CW-verse and how it is all connected to each other.

The Flash Season 8 is expected to be released in 2022.
