Following the news of films pushing back their September theatrical release dates to a later one, Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings drops a new teaser confirming that it will push through as scheduled in theaters despite the alarming COVID surge due to the Delta variant.

The latest teaser of Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings starts with Awkwafina's character Katy lecturing the titular character about wanting to keep the private information in his life to himself and she's freaked out by a guy she calls "with a machete for an arm" made an attack on him on the train. She asks him who he is and we see Shang-Chi training as an assassin, however, he claims he is not that person.

The words "a Marvel legend will rise" were in the teaser along with various action scenes from the film including that of Wong using a spell for a shield and fighting against The Abomination. We also see an epic battle in their hometown and it ends with the ten rings circling around Shang-Chi as he introduces himself. Shang-Chi was even teaching Katy how to properly pronounce his name.

The teaser also reveals that the film will push through as scheduled in theaters despite the alarming rate of the COVID surge due to the Delta variant. One of the films supposed to release the same month is Venom: Let There Be Carnage and it already moved its release date three weeks further because of the number of cases. As for Shang-Chi, it will remain the same.

However, many are speculating that Shang-Chi will not be exclusively released in theaters as promoted in earlier marketing posts. Since this month, they stopped using the word "exclusively," possibly hinting that they, too, are preparing for the worst and could have the film released on the streaming platform, Disney+. Still, with the case of Scarlett Johansson ongoing, this might be a problem Disney would have to ponder on.

Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings is scheduled for release in theaters on September 3, 2021.
