Resident Evil 9 Reportedly In Development

There have been rumors spreading online like wildfire as a new installment of the famous game franchise of Resident Evil is about to release Resident Evil Village (Resident Evil 8) in a month. It seems like Capcom is cooking up what's next for the game – Resident Evil 9 is reportedly in development.

Although details are still in the shadows, it is rumored on Twitter by leaker Dusk Golem, that Resident Evil 9 is in the works and it will be connected to Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village forming a trilogy within the game series. Capcom has not released anything about this yet but many are excited about the upcoming titles for the game franchise.

On the year of the 25th anniversary of the game franchise, a new title is upcoming with Resident Evil Village. The eighth game of the series will be following the events of Resident Evil 7 set a few years later with Ethan Winters and his spouse Mia finding a new peaceful home only to face another tragedy as BSAA Captain Chris Redfield arrives and attacks their new home to kidnap their daughter. Ethan will go through hell once more to rescue his daughter.

It seems like Capcom has grown out of their titles replacing the number "8" with the word "village" hinting that the game will be involving such. If this is to be continued, it is expected that Resident Evil 9 will also have the same treatment. Capcom has yet to disclose the reason for changing the numbers but it really teased the fans and gamers following the game franchise.

Resident Evil Village will be released on May 7, 2021, available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One.
