Re:Zero – Starting Life In Another World, produced by White Fox, is based on the light novel series of the same name by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Otsuka published by Media Factory and the separate manga series and a manga anthology series titled Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World − Official Anthology Comic.
Subaru Natsuki was just on a quick run to the convenience store to buy some supplies when on his way home, he gets magically transported to a place far from modern Japan that he knows of, one inhabited by humans and demi-humans.
Subaru bumped into a group of thugs who brawled on him and he was lucky that a passerby helped for his rescue. Satella was just a passerby looking for an insignia stolen from her. Satella helped Subaru from the thugs and in turn, Subaru helped Satella look for the missing insignia. They ended up in a looted shop where the insignia could be traded for money but they found their deaths instead.
Subaru wakes up to live the same day over again, he ends up in the same place, at the same time, in the same event, in the same group of thugs, and in the same scenario.
Re: Zero is currently in the second part of the second season as a product of being a split-cour. A split-cour is a screening of the series where it is divided into two parts with a three-month TV break in between. The series lined up 25 episodes for the second season.
