The biggest questions in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are about to get some answers in the upcoming animated series of What If..? as it drops its first official trailer and you can now mark your calendars as it comes with a definitive release date, sticking to the Marvel Wednesdays schedule that Loki has established.
The trailer shows Killmonger saving Iron Man, Doctor Strange falling and going dark, the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, Gamora carrying the sword of Thanos, T'Challa being Star-Lord, Loki leading an army, Howard the Duck making an entrance, Peggy wielding the shield as Captain Carter, Steve manning the Iron Man prototype, Uatu saying "I am Watching," Marvel zombies attacking, Wanda emerging, and Vision personally removing the stone on his forehead. The words "Enter the Multiverse of Infinite Possibilities" accompany the scenes and it is glorious!
What If..? will be giving the answers to your hypothetical questions on what-ifs-and-could-have-been in a non-canonical way as it will be featuring various alternate stories of the characters we all got to know and love in the MCU. Just how chaotically beautiful would that be, right? It just makes the universe a whole lot weirder in a way that we could indulge in the biggest what-ifs that there could be.
Not only that, the series now has a definitive release date and it will just be a month away from the finale of Loki and the theatrical release of Black Widow. It seems that the MCU is getting back on its feet and there's no pumping the breaks at all.
What If..? premieres on August 11, 2021 only on Disney+.
