Just a few hours after the release of the seventh episode of WandaVision, Marvel drops a new teaser trailer for the next show in their lineup, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier via their official YouTube page. It seems like both Marvel and Disney have been working hard for the marketing of their limited series and there’s no stopping them.
Titled "Start," The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s new trailer features the leads of the show, Anthony Mackie as The Falcon/ Sam Wilson, and Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier/ Bucky Barnes. The trailer starts with their staring contest while onboard a plane.
The following scenes show a skyline of a city, a few scenes where Sam wields the shield of Captain America, and the lines “a good friend of mine once said, ‘the price of freedom is high. It always will be.’” This is a direct quote from Steve Rogers in Captain America: Winter Soldier.
The scenes were a series of montages and in one notable scene, there seems a man in the shadows kneeling and wearing what looks like a Captain America suit and carrying the shield of the cap. It is hard to decipher who is that man, whether it is Sam, Bucky, or someone else.
It could be remembered that while the shield was given to Sam by Steve, the mantle of Captain America is still in question as to who will be carrying the legacy. By the end of the trailer, it was shown that both Sam and Bucky wield the shield. The end statement of the teaser was Sam saying “when do we start?” as if hinting that the two will be on a mission of their own.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will be featuring the banner characters in their pursuit of justice and of upholding the legacy Captain America has left with the shield. They are expected to face the villains shown in the same teaser such as Helmut Zemo and the Flag Smashers.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is slated for release on March 19, 2021, via Disney+.
