The Suicide Squad is about to arrive in just a few weeks and writer and director James Gunn revealed that there would be deaths among the members of the team of the supervillains, Task Force X, and two specific characters' demise made him cry.

Before The Suicide Squad started filming, James Gunn already warned the viewers not to get too attached to the characters in the movie with the specific nature of the team. Gunn shared how he had decided to kill off "almost all" the characters and he said that the demise of two specific characters made him shed tears.

During a recent press event, as reported by ComicBook.com, Gunn said, "Some of the characters, especially as you go further into the movie and some of the deaths later in the film still break my heart every time I watch. There are two characters in particular that when they die, I still get teary-eyed every time I watch the movie, even when I'm watching those scenes edited when I was going through them. It still really kills me."

Gunn also shared that he knew he would kill off some of the characters, "It's fun watching people die on screen sometimes. It was really pretty organic. I mean, I had to choose what characters I was going to use from DC. And I had a huge trove of characters to choose from. Some characters I knew were going to die from the beginning and then other characters I didn't know for sure were going to die."

They would be on a mission to Corto Maltese looking for a Nazi-era prison lab and they would be facing Starro, a giant telepathic starfish. As they enter a high-stakes adventure, it is yet to be revealed who the two characters James Gunn was referring to given that he already said that almost all of them die in the film. It is a safe bet, though, that Harley would make it out, so she could be ruled out. Still, it's a surprise whoever remains alive in the movie.

The Suicide Squad will introduce Task Force X composed of Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Bloodsport (Idris Elba), Peacemaker (John Cena), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Captain Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), Polka Dot Man (David Dastmalchian), Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior), Mongal (Mayling Ng), The Thinker (Peter Capaldi), Blackguard (Pete Davidson), Savant (Michael Rooker), TDK (Nathan Fillion), Javelin (Flula Borg), King Shark, and Amanda Waller (Viola Davis).

The Suicide Squad premieres in theaters and on HBO Max on August 6, 2021. Tickets are now available before the movie's release.
