Expect an emotion-filled Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as even James Gunn cried buckets while writing it. The third installment of Guardians of the Galaxy has been delayed a couple of times when James Gunn, the director, and writer of the film, was fired then re-hired.

Before heading to the DC Extended Universe for The Suicide Squad, James Gunn has already crafted the script of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which means that he knows where the story will go through, and when he was asked by a fan on Twitter, Gunn said that he cried a lot when he wrote it.

Although not much has been revealed regarding the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, there have been clues along with the MCU of what to expect in the film.

The mystery surrounding Gamora and her return to the team will definitely play a part in the narrative of the film after she was sacrificed by Thanos for the soul stone in the Avengers: Infinity War, only to come back as her 2014 self for the Avengers: Endgame with Thanos' fleet coming to battle with the Avengers.

Gamora's current status is unknown given that it has been established that what has been sacrificed for the soul stone remains dead but her past-self had traveled to the future to eventually turn her back on Thanos and re-join the Avengers along with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

This would make a ripple in the timeline for sure which is why it is expected to be tackled on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Another factor coming into the story that the film would venture on is the involvement of the team in Thor: Love and Thunder. Thor was last seen joining the Guardians of the Galaxy as they head back to the galaxy leaving Asgard to Valkyrie.

One of the most awaited arcs is Rocket's origins where everyone's favorite trash-talking raccoon, or whatever he is called by various characters, will have his own backstory as to how he ended up as he is. It was also rumored that Rocket will be dying (we hope he won't because it'll break our hearts for sure) in the film.

Rocket's story was hinted at in his verbal showdown with Yondu back in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 where he discussed his repressed trauma. Rocket also had to suffer for five years without the team on his side as he was not among those who were snapped by Thanos.

Considering that the two previous installments of the film gave us an emotional gut-punch with Groot's sacrifice "We are Groot" in the first film and Yondu's death in the second film, ready your tissues as it is expected that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will surely be as emotional as the previous films.
