Marvel has proven to have a signature touch in almost every film in the MCU and now, even the series carries the trend of having a scene squeezed either between two credits or the mid-credits scene, or a scene after all the credits rolled. Some would say that you're never truly a fan of the MCU if you leave the moment when you see the credits roll because you never know what the after-credits would tease.

It has been a common practice of Marvel to include an after-credits scene. With WandaVision setting a precedent of being the first Disney+ series of the MCU and it had three episodes with an after-credits scene, it seems that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is following in its footsteps despite having fewer episodes.

Don't turn off your televisions yet as there is a mid-credits scene in Episode 5 of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. In Episode 5, Truth, an after-credits scene reveals that Walker is up to something! It seems that his conversation with Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine planted something in his head that led to his actions.

In said conversation, Contessa Valentina told Walker that the shield does not per se belong to the government, that it belongs to a legal gray area. This might have urged him to make his very own version of the shield of Captain America. After seeing a poster of him following his visit to the parents of Lemar Hoskins, we see Walker forging his shield, seemingly not letting go of being Captain America.

Earlier in the episode, he faced the very senator that granted him the title of the new Captain America only to be stripped off of the title. He was firmly telling them that he did what has to be done. Despite trying his best to convince them not to do such a thing, even telling them that they made him, the title was taken from him and he was ordered to return the shield immediately.

Walker was called by the senator a lucky man as he wouldn't spend his life somewhere else in respect of the medals of valor that he received beforehand. He still walks as a free man despite not being considered a veteran and not be entitled to retirement benefits. All that happened seemed to have him full of it that he wanted to prove himself that he was the right choice as the new Captain America.

What Does This Mean for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and in the MCU?

With the threat of the Flag Smashers about to take on the GRC, this could make Walker another threat as another super-soldier on the loose. It seems that there would be two shields in existence in the MCU, one that Captain America passed onto Sam which Sam currently holds onto and practices with, and one that Walker has been forging in the post-credits scene.

Of course, there can only be one Captain America. With the legacy of the shield, a copy of it could mean a division of who really is who. It is expected that Walker will not stop until he gets revenge on Sam and Bucky until he proves he's the Captain America of the new age. With Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine seems to be backing him, he holds on to the fight.

What do you think Val could bring to Walker to urge him to do so? What could the call be about? Are you excited for what happens in the season finale of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier?

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier returns with its season finale on Friday at3 AM, only on Disney+.
