Is Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-Kun Manga Complete, Finished, or Ongoing? Here is the Current Status of the Manga and Light Novel for Bottom Tier Character Tomozaki

Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-Kun, also known as Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki or The Low Tier Character "Tomozaki-kun", is a romance anime series produced by Project No. 9 which follows Fumiya Tomozaki who is one of Japan's best gamers whilst being a high school student and a loner in real life insisting that "life is a horrible game."

Fumiya Tomozaki meets Aoi Hinami who told him "Take this game called 'life' seriously!" Aoi Hinami acts as a perfect heroine from school to Fumiya as she gives guidance in the form of a life strategy – a bottom-tier character strategy by a high school student.

Project No. 9-produced anime series is based on the Japanese light novel series of the same name written by Yūki Yaku and illustrated by Fly. The light novel series is published by Gagaga Bunko (Shogakukan) and the English version of the light novel is published by Yen Press with the English translations of Winifred Bird.

The light novel series started its release on May 18, 2016, and the English translated version of the light novel series started publishing last July 30, 2019. To date, the light novel series has 11 volumes published with a Drama CD included in the release of Volume 8.5. The status of the light novel series of Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-Kun is ongoing.

The light novel series has been consistent in the top ten of Takarajimasha's annual light novel guide book Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! for three consecutive years ranking eighth in 2017, seventh in 2018, and third in 2019, under the bunkobon category.

Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-Kun also has a Japanese shōnen manga adaptation written by the same author, Yūki Yaku, with the illustrations of Eight Chida. The shōnen manga series is published in Square Enix's shōnen manga magazine Monthly Gangan Joker and has been in circulation since December 2017. The manga series has been collected into five tankōbon volumes and is also ongoing.

The Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-Kun manga series also sprung some side-stories and spin-offs titled Nanami Minami wa Kagayakitai, or in English translation, Minami Nanami Wants to Shine illustrated by Bana Yoshida. The spin-off of the manga series is published in Shogakukan's Manga One app and Monthly Sunday Gene-X magazine on July 18, 2020, and is focused on Minami Nanami.

The anime adaptation of Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-Kun is directed by Shinsuke Yanagi, written by Fumihiko Shimo, character designs by Akane Yano, and music composition by Hiromi Mizutani. Dialogue+ performed both the opening and closing songs of the series titled "Life Easy?" and "Ayawufa Asterisk."

The anime series is relatively new as the series premiered just last January 8, 2021, via Funimation. The series has lined up 12 episodes in total. To date, there is no confirmation yet whether the series will be having a second season.

Summing it all up, the light novel series, the manga series, an anime series of Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-Kun are ongoing.
