How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord Season 2 is just around the corner and with this, the fans and viewers of the show are just as excited that the anime series is coming back this season for another round of comedy and fantasy in one anime.
How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord is about Takuma Sakamoto, a hikikomori gamer, who mysteriously got transported into an MMORPG – a virtual world wherein it is a game called Cross Reverie. Takuma has the appearance of the character that he uses in the game, Demon Lord Diablo, and he was summoned by two young girls, pantherian Rem, and the elf Shera.
The girls attempt to make Takuma their servant and they put a spell on him. It was not effective, though, as he has a magic ring, the Magic Reflection, which has the ability to rebound spells. The result was not as desired by the girls; they ended up as his slaves.
Takuma has social anxiety which is why he wasn't usually outside when in the real world. In the virtual world, however, Takuma decided he'll go for a change and act like his character. With his high stats and knowledge of the Cross Reverie from the outside world, he uses such to survive the virtual world with Rem and Shera who were looking for a way to unenslaved themselves. Takuma helps the girls with their own issues as well, the very reason they summoned him in the first place.
How Not to Summon a Demon Lord is also known as The King of Darkness Another World Story: Slave Magic. It is based on the Japanese light novel where Yukiya Murasaki is the writer and Takahiro Tsurusaki is the illustrator, and its English publisher is J-Novel Club. It also has a shōnen manga series which is licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment.
The isekai anime series How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord first aired in the Summer Season of 2018 where it is produced by Ajia-do Animation Works. For the second season, however, it will be produced by Tezuka Productions and Okuruto Noboru where it would form part of the Spring Season 2021.
The first season of How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord has been ranked by Crunchyroll as the 7th Most Viewed Anime of 2019. It makes sense that the anime series has scored a second season.
So, here's what happened in the first season, Takura got transported to Cross Reverie and became his character, Demon Lord Diablo, as he was summoned by Rem and Shera, only to become slaves themselves because Takura has Magic Refection. The three of them went on an adventure to the city of Faltra but they ended up in a trap by the elves who wanted the return of Shera.
Rem stayed behind in the city where the army of Fallen prepared to invade the place, as for Diablo and Shera, they took another quest. Rem confronted the Fallen who got through the defense of the town and Diablo comes back to face the leader Edelgard and his whole army all by himself.
After that, they were told that if Shera wouldn't be given back to them, the elf Kingdom of Greenwood will be waging a war against Faltra. Alicia Crystella helped the three. Diablo then met with a slave owner to try and figure out how Rem and Shera would not be slaves anymore but it was to no avail. They later went on to Shera's brother, Keera, for help and he was really eager to have his sister back.
Shera really wanted to stay with Diablo and Rem but had to stay with his brother. Diablo was broken and Rem convinced him to pursue Shera. Diablo faced and defeated the elves to rescue Shera but the ruler of Faltra, Galford, took this as his advantage to invade Greenwood. Only Diablo can stop him.
Edelgard offered Diablo to take off the demon lord, Krebskrum, in Rem's body without damaging her. Diablo performs the ritual to fee Krebskrum from Rem. As Krebskrum was to be confronted, she said that she does not intend to destroy races. They believed her and gave her the name Klem. Klem takes them to the city and it was revealed that Alicia planned it all.
Rumors went like wildfire as the demon lord in Faltra brought a ruthless and powerful Paladin, Saddler. Alicia kidnapped Rem and Klem and turned them over to Saddler as they need Klem fully awake. Rem was gravely wounded and because of this Klem transformed to her demon lord self Krebskrum. Diablo needs to control her rage so she wouldn't destroy the city.
How NOT To Summon A Demon Lord will be back this spring season and it will be titled How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord: Omega (Ω) where Crunchyroll announced it in their recent Virtual Crunchyroll Expo 2020.
How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord: Omega (Ω) is scheduled for release on April 8, 2021, via Crunchyroll.
