WandaVision Post-Credits Scenes shocked many fans as it gets the same treatment as that of Marvel Cinematic Universe Films. WandaVision, a canon series in the MCU, gets to have its very own post-credits scene where it sets in stone the future of the whole Phase 4 of the franchise. Not only that, the post-credits scenes of WandaVision establishes what lies ahead for the MCU.

WandaVision How Many Post-Credits Scenes

The classic touch of Marvel is that it puts post-credits scenes to its films where it is either a mid-credits scene, a post-credits scene, or maybe even both. Some would even say you’re never truly a fan of Marvel if you don’t sit the whole movie out until the final second. Though there are times when all that’s in the end seconds are “will return” lines, the excitement of waiting for a post-credit scene still lingers.

After years of having post-credits scenes, Marvel ensured that all the amazing people that made the film or show happen would get enough attention by making people sit it out and wait for the very end, until the last second. Many have wondered if the TV series Marvel would have the same treatment.

The first episodes of WandaVision, had the classic sitcom style of storytelling where every era of TV sitcom is showcased. To the dismay of many, it did not have post-credits for the first six episodes… that is, until, a mid-credits scene appeared in the seventh episode.

The seventh episode mid-credits scene featured the now-powered Monica being caught by Fietro, who turned out to be Ralph, by the way, looking for a way to get into the lair of Agatha Harkness to help Wanda. “Snoopers gonna snoop,” is the line. That’s it, that’s the line. In the eighth episode, the mid-credits scenes continued with the reveal of the White Vision.

As for the season finale of WandaVision, what took the breath away of the fans and viewers is that it has two post-credits scenes, not one, but two: one mid-credits scene and one post-credits scene.

The mid-credits scene shows the aftermath of what happened in Westview after Wanda took down the hex. It showed Jimmy Woo and the whole FBI team starting to set a medical station at the local pharmacy of Westview for the debriefing of everyone who just got out of the hex. Monica greets Jimmy saying he’s good with authority when she got called out by someone from the team to the theater.

To Monica’s surprise, while in the theater, no one was waiting for her, and the person who called her attention revealed herself to be a Skrull. She said she’s aware that S.W.O.R.D. has grounded Monica from taking on any space missions and that they are waiting up there for her. What’s up there was seen in Captain Marvel where the Skrulls have a space station as their makeshift home.

The Skrull also told Monica that she’s a friend of her mother and Monica smiled like she knows exactly what Skrull is talking about. Given her history with the Skrulls, she might even be the Skrull child who became her friend in Captain Marvel.

With this mid-credits scene, the Skrulls mean that they would be playing an important role in Phase 4 of the MCU and maybe even establishing the upcoming sequel of Captain Marvel 2.

After the rolling credits, another post-credits scene appears with the scenic views of the mountains and it pans to a small house in the middle of nowhere and Wanda is there, sitting on the porch with a cup in her hand as the kettle whistles. It was later revealed that Wanda’s astral projection is in the corner of her bedroom reading and studying the Darkhold where she is prophesized, the Scarlet Witch, as told.

Before the end of the post-credits scene, the calls of Tommy and Billy are heard looking for their mother and asking for her help.

It’s very Dr. Strange-like for Wanda to be able to do an astral projection like that. In the previous statement of Agatha, it was written on the Darkhold that the Scarlet Witch is even more powerful than the Sorcerer’s Supreme. With this, it’s a direct line of sight that WandaVision is setting up the upcoming films of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man 3: No Way Home.

Also, as Wanda transforms to fully embrace her true self, she is reminiscent of the Phoenix in the X-Men: the way her powers burst like she’s a goddess, the way she’s enveloped in red like the fire embracing the Phoenix, and even the lake and the mountains where she chose to take her recluse reminds us of the place where Jean Grey died and resurrected in X-Men: The Last Stand.

Like how Marvel always puts it, every post-credits scene holds the key to another door opening shortly for the MCU. Likely, the reason why WandaVision is the first-ever title in Phase 4 of the MCU is that Wanda will be in the middle of it.

Marvel’s Assembled arrives next week with their first-ever documentary special on the behind-the-scenes of WandaVision. ASSEMBLED: The Making of WandaVision will be released on March 12, 2021, via Disney+.
