Tokyo Revengers will now be in an anime series adaptation as Season 1 is about to arrive in a few days which brings us to the question as to how many episodes will be there for the sci-fi action anime series produced by Liden Films following the story of Takemichi Hanagaki.
The upcoming Tokyo Revengers anime series is the on-screen adaptation of the shōnen manga series of the same name by Ken Wakui published in the Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine which has been in circulation since 2017. It recently bagged 2020’s Kodansha Manga Award under the shōnen category and as of February 2020, its circulation has reached 3 million copies.
Not only that, as much as the anime series adaptation brings so much thrill and excitement to the readers of the manga, there is also an upcoming live-action film adaptation of the manga series come July 2020 this year in Japan.
Liden Films will be bringing the manga series into the anime scene with the director Koichi Hatsumi, writer Yasuyuki Mutō, character designer Keiko Ōta, sound director Satoki Iida, and music composer Hiroaki Tsutsumi.
Tokyo Revengers follows the story of Takemichi Hanagaki where his life is at its lowest point and just when he thought his life is already at the bottom, it made him realize that it could go down further than that as he found out that his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, was killed by the Tokyo Manji Gang who is a notorious group of criminals wreaking havoc in the peace of the community for quite some time.
Takemichi wanted to know where it all went wrong and this took him back in time, 12 years behind the present, to the time when he was still with Hinata. This gave Takemichi the thought that he still has a chance to save Hinata from a gruesome murder and he tries to get into the Tokyo Manji Gang to get into the ranks and reach the topmost position in the gang to be able to save Hinata in the future.
There are 24 episodes confirmed for Tokyo Revengers Season 1 and with such episode count, there is also the possibility of the season being a double-cour or a split-cour. The episodes will be available via Crunchyroll for streaming online outside of Southeast Asia. Crunchyroll is known for giving their premium access subscribers a one-week earlier release of the episodes before releasing it for free to the general public.
