A thirty-seven-year-old man, Satoru Mikami, is unhappy with his mediocre life as he is stuck in a dead-end job, and he met his end at the hands of a robber.

He wakes up in a different world, in a fantasy realm, as a slime monster. As he tries to adjust to his new life as a slime, his exploits set off a series of events that will change his new world.

The second season is currently ongoing with the sixth episode underway. The premiere of the second season was supposed to be last October 2020, however, its release was pushed back three months further due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The second season will be a split-cour anime. To those who have yet to learn about what a split-cour anime is, it is a three-month block of a TV broadcast or break on the release dates of the mid-season which is usually comprising of ten to thirteen episodes each half.

The second season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime will have 24 episodes which mean that after the 12th episode, there would be a break in between before the next episode arrives.

After the first half of the second season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, it will be having a break and will be back in July 2021 which makes it part of the summer 2021 anime season.

Although the exact release date has yet to be confirmed, the good news is that it would be within the month of July this year more or less.
