Liden Films brings into the anime series scene Farewell, My Dear Cramer from the pages of the shōnen manga series of the same name by Naoshi Arakawa published in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Magazine, going in circulation since 2016 and to date, it has been collected into thirteen tankōbon volumes. It is a direct sequel to Arakawa’s Sayonara, Football released from 2009 to 2010.
Farewell, My Dear Cramer revolves around the story of a high school student who plays soccer with no accomplishments in the sport during her whole junior year, Sumire Suou, who meets her rival, Midori Soshizaki. In a twist of events, Midori invites Sumire to join the same team with the promise that she would never have to play the game on her own. They prepare as they are about to participate in a local tournament.

In Farewell, My Dear Cramer Episode 1, titled Everyone, is set in the last winter of junior high school where all the fuss is about the upcoming senior year and what lies ahead of high school. Nozomi Onda is still undecided about which course to take. She wanted to play and with the recommendation of her adviser Samejima, she joins the team of the Warabeads or Warabi Seinan High School Women's Soccer Club.
In the team, she saw it was divided into red and white on the playing field, one with new joiners and one with second graders which includes Midori Soshizaki, a player who brought her team to a podium finish of third place across the whole country, and a fast-paced wing, Sumire Suou.
Crunchyroll holds the official license to stream Farewell, My Dear Cramer to regions outside of Southeast Asia. Crunchyroll had a premium subscription access which allows these subscribers to have the privilege of having a one-week advanced release of the episodes of the animes under their library for the rate of $9.99 a month, or $79.99 a year. To those without a subscription, they release the episodes for free the week after the release to their premium access subscribers.
Farewell, My Dear Cramer Episode 2, titled Impact, is slated for release on April 11, 2021, for the premium access subscribers of Crunchyroll, along with the premiere episode, Everyone. Episode 2 will be released to the general public the following week, April 18, 2021, for free.
