Farewell, My Dear Cramer, produced by Liden Films, is an upcoming anime series based on the manga series of the same name by Naoshi Arakawa which is published in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Magazine. It has been in circulation since 2016 and to date, it has been collected into thirteen tankōbon volumes.

The shōnen manga series of Farewell, My Dear Cramer is directly a sequel to Arakawa's Sayonara, Football which was released from 2009 to 2010 which was published in Kodansha's Magazine E-no and compiled in two tankōbon volumes.

Farewell, My Dear Cramer follows the story of Sumire Suou, a high school student who plays soccer with no accomplishments in the sport during her whole junior year. In one of the matches, she met Midori Soshizaki, her rival, who invited her to join the same team and promised her that she would never be playing alone. The team is considerably weak and yet they still decide to go out and participate in a local tournament.

Animes about sports are not much abundant but now, it has been given a highlight through various titles for different sports. Because of this, fans and viewers, especially the younger audience, get to see the role that sports have in the development of a person as it results in a healthier lifestyle and it instills the discipline of a person which one can apply, not only to sports but also to life in general.
