Diablo himself is not yet confirmed whether he would return but the game would surely find a way to squeeze him in and with Lilith's return as the main antagonist of the game, Blizzard will definitely make an effort to make the game as great or even better than it was before.

The developers are exploring as to how the game would give players more flexibility with plans on having PvP, online shared-world, and improvements on the items of the game.

Focusing on strengthening class identities and deeper customization, three out of the five customizable classes were already announced.

Potential Diablo 4 Classes

Two classes are yet to be unveiled by Blizzard for Diablo 4 and with two out of the three classes that are confirmed reliant on magic, it is expected that a physical class would be included in the roster of classes. Speculations as to the last two classes has risen and while it is possible to include a new class, Blizzard can take on reworking old classes for Diablo 4.

Monk

The Monk is a physical class that could fill in the void of having closer-ranged combatants in the game as Monks are melee fighters offering healing and buffs along with the damage it exerts in the battlefield with their speed. Relying on Dexterity, Monks have a good chance of joining Diablo 4 despite not having a choice for ranged weaponry as that could be improved on.

Rogue

One of the most flexible classes to ever grace Diablo is Rogue which offers capability on both weapon mastery and magic. Rogue, albeit being an old class, could be revamped for Diablo 4 as the game still lacks a Dexterity class. Rogue can give the developers a fresh canvas to work on with its flexibility and fondness for ranged weapons.

Here are the Rogue's class specialisation skills in Diablo 4:

Shadow Realm – Become immune for one second, and pull target enemies into the Shadow Realm with you for five seconds. In Shadow Realm, you become stealthed, unstoppable, and deal 50% more damage to the afflicted enemies (Also makes foes outside the Shadow Realm briefly disappear).
Cooldown: 10 seconds
Deals physical damage
Exploit Weakness – You can exploit the weakness in certain enemy attacks. All hits against these enemies become critical strikes and deal 60% increased damage.
Combo Points – Your basic attacks now add combo points. Certain skills consume combo points for additional effects.
Here are the Rogue's imbue skills in Diablo 4:

Frost Imbue – Imbues the Rogue's attacks and skills with the chill effect.
Acid Imbue – Imbues the Rogue's attacks and skills with the poison effect.
Shadow Imbue – Imbues the Rogue's attacks and skills with the shadow effect.
Here are the Rogue's melee skills in Diablo 4:

Shadow Step – Teleports the Rogue to behind a target
Dash – Dashes quickly in the direction the Rogue is facing
Caltrops – Deploys caltrops behind the Rogue as they dash backwards
Here are the Rogue's ranged skills in Diablo 4:

Arrow Barrage – Fires a volley of arrows at foes
Requires Combo Points to use
Rain of Arrows – The Rogue leaps into the air and fires many arrows at the ground, repeatedly hitting any enemies in range.

Assassin

A wish in a bottle that would really make fans go wild is if the Assassin would be a class for Diablo 4. The Assassin only appeared as an expansion for previous installments of the game but making it a staple class for Diablo 4 can make it an easy Dexterity class. Though the Assassin has specificity in weaponry like claws, it does some serious damage and great skill of lockpicking.

Warrior

Another classic in the game is the Warrior, the master of melee weaponry. A class with quite a generic melee weapon class and not suitable for magic, the Warrior can provide close ranged combat and could sustain himself through weapon repair. Although it might have a small chance of coming back given that the Barbarian has already been announced, anything is possible.

Paladin and Crusader

With a similar set of skills, the Paladin of Diablo 2 and Crusader of Diablo 3 could be combined into one group as heavily armored melee fighters having divine might under their sleeves that could impair enemies. With no holy magic class in the confirmed classes, the Paladin and Crusader has a fighting chance to be back in Diablo 4.

Amazon and Demon Hunter

Another set of classes with skills resembling each other is Diablo 2's Amazon and Diablo 3's Demon Hunter having both weapon-focused and Dexterity under their belts featuring ranged weapons. Combining them into one class would give Diablo 4 the melee capabilities of the Amazon and dark skills of the Demon Hunter which could be a power class for the game.

A Brand-New Class

Given that Diablo 4 is exploring on the flexibility that the game could offer its players, Blizzard could easily make a new class tailored fit for Diablo 4. There a high chance that Blizzard will be experimenting on existing classes and make a mix-and-match of what the game would need to make it more interesting.

There is no release date yet for Diablo 4 as the game would surely take time to perfect and give the players an intense to hell game. We sure hop it's worth the wait as it did before. BlizzConline 2021 is scheduled on February 19 and 20, 2021 so stay tuned for more updates regarding Diablo 4.
