Batman: The Long Halloween has found its voice for Bruce Wayne and it would be Supernatural alumnus Jensen Ackles as he was tapped by Warner Bros. Animation to be the Dark Knight in the two-part animated film.
Jensen Ackles is best known for his portrayal of Dean Winchester in the horror-fantasy series of The CW, Supernatural. He is no stranger to voicing a DC character as he voiced Jason Todd aka Red Hood before in another Warner Bros. Animation film Batman: Under the Red Hood.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ackles has been selected to voice yet another Warner Bros. Animation film and this time, he would be giving the voice for the Dark Knight, Bruce Wayne. He would be joining an all-star voice cast for the film.
Ackles will be among the voice cast which includes the late Naya Rivera as Catwoman/Selina Kyle, Troy Baker as Joker, David Dastmalchian as Calendar Man, Billy Burke as James Gordon, Amy Landecker as Barbara Gordon, Josh Duhamel as Harvey Dent, Julie Nathanson as Gilda Dent, Titus Welliver as Carmine Falcone, Alastair Duncan as Alfred, Jack Quaid as Alberto, and Fred Tatasciore as Solomon Grundy. Rivera tragically died in 2020 but it was reported that she was able to finish recording her voice work for Catwoman/ Selina Kyle.
Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One will be in two parts. The Long Halloween was by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. It is a 13-part series released in 1996 which features Batman in his early days as the Dark Knight in his pursuit of the serial killer who only kills once a month, on holidays, the Holiday Killer. Calendar Man knows who the Holiday Killer is but he wouldn't tell Batman.
The Long Halloween also lays down how Harvey Dent became Two-Face. Batman chanced upon various characters in The Long Halloween such as Joker, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Mad Hatter, and the Riddler.
Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One is expected to be released sometime in Spring or Summer this year.
