The first season of Luke Cage introduced us to three villains from the comic, and with the second season coming in, we now have an idea on who is going to clash with Harlem's Hero in the second season.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the main baddie for Luke Cage 2 will be crime boss Rosalie Carbone, and she'll be played by Annabella Sciorra (Internal Affairs, The Sopranos). Carbone was originally introduced as a villain for the Punisher, but for the series, she's a crime boss who's out for Harlem.
Showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker had this to say about Sciorra:
"I've been a huge fan of hers since Spike Lee's Jungle Fever, and Anabella Sciorra is no joke as Rosalie Carbone… You haven't seen her this gangster since her thrilling turn as Tony's formidable flame Gloria Trillo on season 3 of The Sopranos. I'm thrilled her introduction to the Marvel Universe will be on Marvel's Luke Cage."
If the Marvel Netflix universe is known for one thing, it's intriguing villains. Sure, I don't think the Universe has been able to top anyone since David Tennant's Kilgrave, but I'd be happy to see the series try with Rosalie Carbone.
