The newest episode, fittingly titled "Interlude," was focused on Aira, the Japanese girl who was summoned alongside Sei, and there's some interesting implicit commentary about isekai tropes there!
The ongoing anime by studio Diomedea is based on a light novel turned manga and it's finally picking up. Unlike Sei, who managed to fit in almost immediately and is probably the real saint, Aira seems to be struggling, which most likely promises complications later on.

In Episode 7 Aira gets the spotlight, offering rarely seen insights about the isekai conventions. More often than not, the characters who are transported into a magical world using teleportation or reincarnation fit in almost immediately with little regard to their previous life.
Aira was not like that. In one episode, we saw more of her backstory than Sei has ever revealed in six. Through flashbacks, we learn that Aira has a loving family and is distressed when she finds out she can't go back to them. Prince Kyle does his best for her to fit in, but when Sei turns out to be a more likely saint, he knows it won't be enough.
Revealing depths we hadn't suspected before, Kyle decides to keep Aira away from the rest of the court, hoping that this mistreatment will cause them to be sympathetic and lenient with her. So far, this hasn't been working very well, particularly since Kyle himself is engaged.
But there's a refreshing detail here. While other female students shun Aira for being too friendly with engaged young men, Elizabeth, Kyle's fiancee, is actually willing to understand that Aira comes from a different culture, and attempts to befriend her anyway, as she did with Sei.
With Episode 8, we'll be more than halfway through the 12-episode anime. And if it has another female friendship, it'll be all the more interesting.
