The Promised Neverland Season 2 Episode 9 Recap
Episode 9 picks up right from where 8 left off: in the aftermath of the demons' genocide at the hands of Norman, Emma and Rey return and find out their friend lied to them. Rather than condemning Norman, Emma understands he was afraid and wanted to save them all by himself, acting like a god and bearing the burden alone.
Emma refuses to let him keep suffering alone and helps him realize that he only ever wanted to save his family; he was never interested in revenge. The other humans who escaped with him support his decision if reluctantly.
Mujika feeds the demons with her "evil blood" which will allow them to keep living as sentient beings, but no longer dependent on human meat.
All seemed well until the children hear on the radio that Phil and the other young children back in Grace Field are going to be shipped immediately. We find out that this was a bluff, orchestrated by Peter Ratri and a newly promoted Isabella to lure the children.
Not knowing this, Emma and the others resolve to save their youngest siblings. The blind demon priest, one of the survivors Mujika helped with her blood centuries ago, gives them a missing piece from William Minerva's pen. Upon connecting it, the children see a map to the human world, as well as a cure for Norman and his ill friends from the Lambda farm.
Things are looking up for the children - but Isabella and Ratri are formidable opponents and we're bound to see some twists before the end. While Episode 9 was exciting, I can't help thinking that some events were rushed, with information told rather than shown.
11 episodes seem too few to wrap up, while there doesn't seem to be enough material for a Season 3 unless a completely new direction is decided upon. In any case, the remaining two episodes promise to be exciting and can't come soon enough.
The Promised Neverland Season 2 Episode 10 Release Date
The Promised Neverland Season 2 Episode 10 will air next Friday, the 19th of March, or Thursday, the 18th of March depending on your timezone. Premium Funimation users and Hulu subscribers will be able to watch the new episode immediately after release.
Those streaming on Funimation for free will have to wait until the 25th/26th of March but they will be able to watch Episode 9 on the 19th.
The Promised Neverland Season 2 Episode 10 Release Time
The ninth episode of The Promised Neverland Season 2 will be released in Japan around 1.25 AM on the 19th of March. This translates to around 4.30 AM on the 18th of March for the US and Canada, and around 5.25 PM on March 18 for Central Europe.
