The Duke of Death and His Maid Episode 10 was nothing short of adorable, and while the angst of being in love with someone from a different socioeconomic background is as old as literature, Alice's struggle was delivered in a very touching way.
With Season 1 ending in just two weeks, at a total of 12 episodes, it looks like the curse might not be broken yet. We might have to wait for the manga for that, but to be honest, even another 2 plotless episodes with just Alice and the Duke being wholesome together wouldn't be the worst deal.

The Duke of Death and His Maid Episode 10 Recap
Alice might love the Duke more than anything, but something has changed in her attitude since Walter's visit. The Duke is entirely prepared to fight for his love, if his curse is ever broken, and tells Alice that he'll marry her, even if it means breaking ties with his family once more.
Alice doesn't want that for him, and consults Rob, telling him she can't find joy at the prospect of the Duke being cured, as his desire to keep her with him would cause him and his family pain. Rob, who is revealed to have been the one to hire Alice in the first place, feeling that the Duke needed a companion his own age, tells Alice that the Duke and herself must decide on their own about their relationship dynamic.
The Duke and Alice sing a song together, about the impossible match between an owl and a cat. The Duke then tries to escort Alice to her room, but she refuses, insisting it is improper because of her servant status. The Duke realizes that the nursery rhyme was meant to describe their own love but Alice doesn't let him console her. Instead, she leaves by herself, thinking she will never manage to be a good maid like her mother.

The Duke of Death and His Maid Episode 11 is scheduled to be released next Sunday, September 12 on Funimation. Unfortunately, no English dub has been announced at the time of writing, but we'll let you know if this changes in the following weeks.
