What would you do if an alien moved into your town? And what if he became the town doctor? If these questions sound interesting to you go no further. The new Resident Alien TV Show that will start airing next week aims to answer just that.
Fans of Resident Alien, the comic book series created by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse have reason to be excited. The TV adaptation of the same name will hit our screens really soon!
The comic has received positive reviews for its humor, art, and non-stereotypical focus on small-town life. Judging from the well-made trailer, the show is likely to be the same. The Sci-fi comedy will be available to watch on Syfy.
Already excited with what you just read? Fortunately, the wait for this one is going to be short. Resident Alien will be available to stream on Syfy from the 27th of January.
A number of main cast members have already been announced. Alan Wray Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Firefly) portrays main character Captain Hah Re/ Harry Vanderpeige. Tudyk is also a voice actor who has worked in many well-known animation including Frozen 2, Ice Age, Rick and Morty and Zootopia.
Other known members of the main cast include Sara Tomko (Once Upon a Time) as nurse Asta Twelvetrees, Corey Reynolds (Selma) as Sheriff Mike Thompson, Alice Wetterlund (Silicon Valley) as Darcy Morin and Levi Fiehler (Wolf Town) as Ben Hawthorne.
Among the supporting cast members are Elizabeth Bowen (Tempting Faith) as Deputy Sherriff Liv Baker, Linda Hamilton (The Terminator) as General McCallister, Mandell Maughan (Bajillion Dollar Propertie$) as Lisa Casper and Alex Barima (Tomorrowland: A World Beyond) as David Logan.
The trailer of Resident Alien features some gorgeous small town scenery and, more importantly, an adorably awkward main character who is not quite used to being human... and people notice. His attempts to pass as 'a normal human' will definitely be entertaining to watch.
Resident Alien will follow main character Captain Hah Re, an alien who takes the identity of Harry Vanderspeige, a doctor in a Colorado mountain town, following a crash on Earth. He is able to learn human language and mannerisms, and even appear human-formed to the residents of the small town. Things, however, get complicated when a 9-year-old boy is able to see through his true alien form, threatening his mission. But what is his true mission? And what will happen when he starts having moral qualms about it?
The detailed episode list for Resident Alien has not been released yet. According to IMDb, members of the main cast will appear in ten episodes, so ten seems a likely total number. What we know is that, apart from the pilot, a second episode has been confirmed called “Homesick,” which will likely feature the main character being nostalgic – and rightly so, as moving to earth must be a huge change for him.
The executive producers’ team includes Chris Sheridan, Mike Richardson, David Dobkin, Keith Goldberg, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. The Pilot episode was directed by David Dobkin Robert Duncan McNeill, Jennifer Phang, Jay Chandrasekhar, and Shannon Kohli also participated in the show’s directing.
This is all we know about Resident Alien so far. Reviews are not available, as the series has not been released yet, but things are already looking exciting!
But with the Pilot scheduled to air on the 27th of January, it won’t be long before we know much more. As the release date of the series draws near, this article will be updated with reviews. Stay tuned for updates!
