Megalo Box 2: Nomad Overview and Episode 4 Recap
Megalo Box is an original work that was created as part of the 50-year anniversary of Ashita no Joe, a classic boxing anime. Megalo Box presents a unique twist to the classic sport; Megalo Box is a dangerous, futuristic version whereby fighters use mechanical gear. This means that matches can be life-threatening.
In the first season, we follow a man known first as Junk Dog and later as Gearless Joe, on his way up the Megalo Box ranks. Season 2 unfolds several years later; Joe is now known as Nomad. He gets paid to fight, but his days as Gearless Joe are behind him.

In Episode 4, Chief is revealed to be alive even though his trailer burned. While he manages to save the photo of his family, a fact that shows how much he cares about them, Mio still leaves the community. Later on, Chief has to fight Mamiya, one of Hiwaka's most promising fighters.
Eventually, Chief managed to win - a feat that had seemed impossible. Mio cuts all ties with the criminals he was close to, and Chief buys the land he was after. Things finally look up, but Chief is found dead the next day. Mio gives Joe Chief's gear and Joe heads home. Episode 5 will hopefully reveal more about his whereabouts.

Megalo Box 2: Nomad airs every Sunday on Funimation. Episode 5 is scheduled to be released on the 2nd of May 2021. Premium Funimation users will be able to watch the episode on the date of its release. Those watching for free will have to wait until May 11, but Episode 4 will be available to all by May 4.
