If finding the house of your dreams is hard as a human, it's nearly impossible when you are a cowardly dragon just wanting to live your best life in peace: Dragon Goes House-Hunting explores exactly this idea. High fantasy fans will like the idea of a dragon making his way in a world of elves, dwarves, and dragon-slaying heroes… but just how many episodes is the show going to have?
First, a little overview: Dragon Goes House-Hunting is a Spring 2021 anime show by Studio Signal.MD (also home to the currently ongoing historical horror show Mars Red) and licensed by Funimation. It is based on a Fantasy manga written by Kawo Tanuki and illustrated by Choco Aya.
The show follows Letty, a young red dragon who is kicked out by his family when he fails to prove himself. As it turns out, dragon flesh is a priced item in Letty's world, so he must navigate cruel environments and escape from those who would literally have a piece of him. Thankfully, Letty meets Dearia, a dark elf lord, who happens to know a thing or two about real estate.
Dearia agrees to take Letty under his wind and help him find the perfect home. But can there ever be a safe home for a cowardly dragon?
According to the big anime database MyAnimeList, this cute premise will count a total of 12 episodes, making it a relatively short show. This might be for the best if its episode is going to stand by itself, with Letty trying and failing to settle down; a larger number of episodes and the anime would be in danger of becoming a bit repetitive.
Meanwhile, the Dragon Goes House-Hunting manga is currently ongoing, counting 6 volumes so far, with a volume 7 underway. It remains to see just how much each anime episode is going to adapt so that we can tell if one season is all we can expect. With its current rating, the anime doesn't seem like the most likely candidate for a second season, but we'll update if this changes.
