Fruit Basket Season 3 Episode 4 Recap

Fruits Basket is based on Takaya Natsuki's manga of the same name and is one of the most popular shōjo works out there. Over the past two decades, many fans have fallen in love with the adventures of high-school girl Tohru Honda who moves in with her classmates Yuki and Kyo Sohma only to find that members of the family are possessed by Chinese Zodiac spirits, and at the mercy of Akito, the terrifying head of the family.

Warning: Below, you will find a recap of Episode 3 if you want to refresh your memory before Episode 4. If you have yet to watch Episode 3 you might want to skip to the next section as there will be spoilers here.

Fruits Basket Season 3 Episode 3 temporarily removed the focus from Tohru to Yuki and Machi. As the students prepare for the seniors' graduation, a rumor circulates the school. Some girls whisper that Machi attempted to kill her baby brother out of jealousy.

Machi runs home, while Yuki and Kakeru go after her. Yuki is surprised to find out that Machi leaves alone: it turns out that her parents made these living arrangements for her because they truly believed she was a danger to her little brother, whom they prepare to be their father's heir.

Yuki and Kakeru help clean up Machi's messy room. When they find themselves alone, Machi tells Yuki that she never tried to kill her brother, but her parents refused to believe her, and still sent her away to live alone. The two share a tender moment but are interrupted by Kakeru.

Back in the school, the seniors graduate, and Motoko, who used to lead a group of girls all of whom were in love with Yuki, decides to speak with him. Finally confessing her love, she also realizes there's no chance of ever being with him. Through their first honest conversation, Motoko is able to let go.

Meanwhile, Rin graduates, but fails to attend her ceremony as she is supposedly still ill in the hospital. Kagura takes her degree for her, but despite Shigure's reassurance, she can't help thinking something bad might have happened to Rin. Hopefully, Episode 4 will reveal more about Rin's whereabouts.
