Lucasfilm Developing “A Few” New Star Wars TV Shows

Star Wars fans might be a bit broken hearted that Star Wars Rebels is coming to a close now that it's approaching the second half of its fourth and final season on Disney XD, but it seems like Lucasfilm's making sure that a new series fills in the void once the show comes to an end.

Last year word came out that the studio was working on a live-action Star Wars TV series to come along with the launch of Disney's very own streaming service in 2019.

Now according to a post by ABC ‘s Clayton Sandell, Disney CEO Bob Iger says that the live-action Star Wars series isn't the only Lucasfilm's preparing for Star Wars fans.

According to Sandell's tweet, there are actually "a few" Star Wars series that are being developed for the small screen. The report was most likely taken from Disney's first quarter earnings call for 2018 and during the same announcement (via Comic Book) Iger also revealed that Disney was "close to revealing one of the entities that's developing a Star Wars series for us but we can't at this point in time because the deal isn't done."

Though the reports don't specify what kind of shows Lucasfilm are developing, it's definitely exciting to hear that Lucasfilm is preparing more material for fans. What an exciting time to be alive.

Star Wars Rebels is set to return for its final set of episodes on February 24, 2018.
