Lara Croft Wields Her Signature Bow In New Image From The Tomb Raider Reboot

We've been getting news on the Tomb Raider reboot movie little by little, and now we have a new image of Alicia Vikander's Lara Croft holding up her signature bow and arrow from the Tomb Raider game of 2013.

Check it out:

Vikander also talks to Empire about their new take on Lara, and says:

"We asked, ‘What are the famous traits of this person?'… ‘How can we demonstrate them in the story, but make her feel like a young woman in 2018?'"

With Angelina Jolie being the last onscreen incarnation of Lara Croft, producers are trying their best to steer clear of that version and remain faithful to the new Tomb Raider franchise that was presented by Square Enix.

A lot of fans may miss the short shorts and overly busty physique of the classic Lara, but the new Tomb Raider promises a grittier and more realistic world that everyone grew to love when it was introduced back in 2013.

As of now, we don't have any full details on what the story is for this new Tomb Raider movie, but it's said to draw inspiration from the first rebooted game which found Lara and some of her friends trapped in a magical island where a cult is trying to resurrect their dead queen that controlled the weather.

Tomb Raider is set to come out on March 16, 2018.
