Recently, on April 1st no less, a website reported that Funimation and MAPPA were teaming up in order to produce an anime adaptation of the popular shonen series. Unfortunately, that rumor is not true as of April 6th, 2021. No actual anime production has been announced or confirmed by any reputable news source. That isn't to say that it's never going to happen. As we've seen time and time again, you can never say never in the world of anime.

As stated, one can never say never in this crazy world of ours, and I would speculate that we will eventually see an anime adaptation of Solo Leveling, and probably not before it's too far away. However, Crunchyroll is the one who has already established a relationship with Webtoons so if anyone were going to co-produce this series, I would assume it would be them, but again, that's just a guess on my part.

It's hard to imagine this series not doing well as an anime unless the production was done very poorly from the start. This is a red hot property right now with fans around the world clamoring for more information and story as soon as it is made available. With action to spare and a compelling story that actually progresses at a decent enough pace, there's no real reason why this series couldn't be an enjoyable anime series.

Regardless of what you might think of the series, it appears that we're going to get an animated adaptation by someone before too long.
