Big Mom is saved from making a big splash in the ocean!

In chapter 1,010 of the shonenmangaOne Piece, Prometheus is able to rescue Big Mom before she crashes into the ocean below her. As the battle with the Emperor continues, Kaido takes a heavy hit that leaves a scar on his chest. Meanwhile, Luffy realizes something important and goes off to take on the Emperor all on his own.

One Piece has been running since July 1997 in Weekly Shonen Jump and has become one of the most enduringly popular manga series of all time. In fact, in 2020, the Japanese network Asahi launched a national poll asking over 150,000 residents of Japan what the best manga of all time is… One Piece won the poll handily despite some very strong competition from other, more recent, series including Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaibu. The series has been compiled into 98 volumes and currently holds the world record for most issues of a comic book from the same author ever.

In the series, the main character is Luffy D. Monkey who, after being inspired by his hero the powerful pirate "Red Haired" Shanks, leaves his home in the East Blue Sea to begin a journey to find the fabled treasure and declare himself the King of the Pirates. As you might have guessed, he's yet to actually find that treasure, but author Eiichiro Oda says that the series will end someday.

According to some unofficial spoilers posted to the One Piecesubreddit, Big Mom is going on the offensive with a new homie made of thunder she calls Hera. Zeus eventually escapes from the box and goes in search of Big Mom, but doesn't find her before Kid and Killer arrive at the castle. Killer takes on Hawkins and Kid goes off to continue searching for Big Mom. The chapter will end with shock as Big Mom goes into mother mode.
