Episode 1 of the popular shonen anime My Hero Academia Season 5 starts off rather tame with the class of 1-A having to participate in a drill to take out two “villains”. Honestly, most of the episode is just re-learning who all is in the class and what their quirk is all about. The real fun begins after all that though in the epilogue after the closing credits.
In this epilogue, we see a resting Endeavour in a hospital bed with a cast on one arm and tubes sticking into the other. He’s the number one hero, and yet he’s been badly beaten. He remembers the villain who put him in this hospital bed, though we’re not sure of a name yet. All we know is that he has the face of a scarecrow and he looks to be one bad mamma jamma.
The next episode of My Hero Academia will be released on its regular day. So you can expect it to appear on both Funimation and Crunchyroll on Saturday, April 3rd.
My Hero Academia airs at 5:30 pm Japan Standard Time which means it will air outside Japan at the following times around the world:
Pacific Time: 1:30 am
Central Time: 3:30 am
Eastern Time: 4:30 am
British Time: 9:30 am
I seriously thought that the latest season of My Hero Academia was going to just start with another recap episode like the last couple of seasons have. I was quite surprised to see that epilogue which sets up dark happenings coming throughout the rest of the season. Knowing that the manga is in its final act makes me wonder how long we’re going to have to wait to see the shocking conclusion in anime form!
For those of you who haven’t been reading the manga, you’ll definitely want to stay tuned to the anime for this season and possibly even the next because there are some massive changes coming in the futures of our young heroes!
