How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord is one of the most highly anticipated sequels of the upcoming season. A trashy fan service romp (and I'm using that as a compliment in this case), this is a fun fantasy isekai about a gamer who gets summoned into the body of his severely overpowered character into the world of his favorite MMORPG, Cross Reverie, by two adventurers who seek to enslave him. Unfortunately for them, this character was wearing a magic reflection ring, which means these two adventurers are now his slaves instead.
Originally airing in the summer 2018 anime season, How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord started as a light novel series in December 2014 written by Yukiya Murasaki and illustrated by Takahiro Tsurusaki which are being released in English by J-Novel Club. A manga adaptation launched in June 2015 and is being released in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.

In the subtitled promotional video posted by Funimation, we don't learn a lot about the story in the upcoming season. We do know that we'll be meeting at least three new characters and that a new challenge awaits Diablo, but what that challenge is remains to be seen.

While we know for certain that the series will premiere in Japan on April 9th, it is unknown at the time of writing when it will appear outside of Japan due to the unknown nature of the license. Crunchyroll has not yet announced their license of this series, and Funimation has only confirmed a dub, which will probably be delayed because of the worldwide pandemic.

As previously mentioned, Funimation has confirmed that they will stream a dub of this series but did not confirm a date for their release.
