There are a number of anime with original stories airing this season, but one of the most interesting so far is Vivy: Flourite Eye’s Song. In this story, the setting is an AI-powered amusement park called NiaLand, which features the first autonomous AI named Diva who performs at the park as a singer. One day, an AI visits her from 100 years in the future who says that in a century, there will be a war between the humans and the AI which will result in thousands of casualties. This future AI has come back in time to team up with Diva in order to change this future from happening.
As of April 2021, Vivy: Flourite Eye’s Song is scheduled to run for 13 episodes. This does not include any additional episodes, OVAs, or additional seasons that have yet to be announced. This means that the series will end around the beginning of June 2021.
Produced by Wit Studio, Vivy: Flourite Eye’s Song was created by Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara. Shinpei Ezaki is serving as the director with Yusuke Kubo as their assistant director. A manga adaptation began serialization on the Mag Comi website on April 10th. The series will also have a novel adaptation.
This series is off to an amazing start with the first two episodes setting up the story and main characters. While the story is reminiscent of Terminator, the concept is still solid enough to make for an entertaining ride throughout the early moments. It’s my sincere hope that this series can keep up this momentum throughout the entire season and tell a complete story that will capture my imagination and maybe even blow me away with some killer animation.
Vivy: Flourite Eye’s Song is already proving to be the series to beat this season even early on. There’s nothing else like this series this season, and that is a very good thing! With any luck, Japan will see major success with this series and create more just like it!
