Higehiro is the new series from studio project No.9 which adapts the shonen light novel series of the same name. In the series, the main character is an adult male named Yoshida who has been rejected by the woman he had a major crush on. While walking home one night, he encounters a teenage girl on the streets who offers herself up to him in exchange for a place to sleep. Turning her down instantly, he still relents enough to offer her a place to stay. Manabu Kamikita will direct the series working off the series composition created by Deko Akao.

As of March 30th, 2021, no one besides Crunchyroll has announced plans to simulcast this series as part of their spring lineups which include Funimation and Netflix.

Higehiro is a series that is on my personal "must watch" list, and I really hope that it lives up to expectations. The story sounds sweet enough and there's a ton of room for growth as it progresses over the next twelve weeks or more (the exact episode count hasn't been revealed yet).

project no.9 is a competent studio having done good series over the years, including And You Thought There Was Never a Girl Online and the more recent Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki. What really impresses me about this staff though is the inclusion of Deko Akao who has worked on such charming series as Snow White with the Red Hair and Arakawa Under the Bridge.
